How A Blog Can Build Your Relationships Before A Phone Call

whyblogA common question that pops up in many minds is “Why should I have a blog?” There are myriad of reasons why a blog is important to have, the most commonly discussed reason being SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to improve website ranking on search engines. However, I had a unique experience where my blog directly contributed to a working relationship I recently started and therefore proved to be a worthwhile feature on my website.

I came across a yoga instructor who was looking for someone to assist him in managing his online marketing campaigns. I sent him a message explaining my skills and experience and included a link to my website. He responded back that he was interested in working with me primarily because he connected with many points I brought up on my blog and felt like we would work well together.

This was an eye-opening experience for me as I realized my blog is a doorway for site visitors to understand who I am professionally and on a personal level. By reading my blog they get a feel of my dedication to marketing, my thought process and methods of communication. In a sense it allows them to meet me before actually having an initial phone call which can save a lot of time on both ends.

This same situation can be applied to any business whether you are in beauty, tech, automotive, etc. A blog shows potential customers that you are serious about what you do, happy to share information and are easy to contact. These are all things that customers take note of while deciding which business they will trust and ultimately build a long lasting relationship with.

So there is some food for thought about how a blog can benefit your business or project. Feel free to message me with questions you have about blogging and I will get back to you.
